Lackawanna State Park Dog Walk
Introducing dog owners to woodland options at Lackawanna State Park. Too many stick to the roads in the main park...come discover the joys for you and your pooch on the trails in the surrounding woods and hills. This will be a BRISK paced hike, not a ramble, aiming for approx. 3 mph, and will be a combination of two or more loops so you'll have a chance to bail out at the parking lot if you don't want to continue the entire distance. First loop about 3-? miles (depending on abilities of participants) followed by another loop of 1-6 miles (again, entirely dependent upon desires/abilities of participants). There is great flexibility of this trail system, so we can make of the outing whatever we'd like. I'm quite familiar with the trails and want to guide you to some of the prettiest and most diverse areas. Please note that the distance posted is only a "hard number" because the signup required an estimate. I hope to provide a combination of loops that allows less fit hikers to do shorter distances while continuing on for more experienced hikers to see as much of the park as possible. Trip is weather-dependent. To some extent we can change the date/time in response to weather forecast as we get closer to the Hiking Week events.
