The 329-acre Kinzua Bridge State Park is in McKean County and features remnants of the 2,053-foot railroad bridge viaduct that was a National Engineering Landmark. A tornado packing 80+ mph winds knocked down much of the bridge in 2003. The General Kane Trail named after Thomas Leiper Kane, is a 1-mile loop hiking trail. It leads people through forested areas that were ravished by the tornado, as well as those that remained unharmed. The trail head is located at 41 45, 420N 078 35.133 W.

A Pennsylvania Must See!

Great place to take the family. Pack a picnic lunch and spend the day! The new visitors center opened in Summer 2016. There is a gift shop, information desk, 2 floors of educational displays and restrooms inside. Picnic tables out back and across from the large parking lot. The Skywalk is approx .15 miles in length. The hike to the bottom of the gorge where the debris field is very steep and rugged. Be sure to wear sturdy and comfortable shoes. Hike to the bottom is not recommended for small children. Nearby Kane PA offers a few places to eat.
